The Great Silk Road is almost inseparable from the Central Asian region. This iconic caravan route was for millennia the sole mode of transportation between the eastern and western civilization which helped exchange of goods, ideas, religion, and helped mankind move forward. It appeared on scene around the 3rd Century BC and existed till the 16th Century. Caravans loaded with silk (the main commodity which was only produced in China back then), spices, paper, and precious stones from parts of India, China, and Korea were transported to the other side of the world and traded in parts of Europe and Arabian world.
The Silk Road routes are deeply integrated in the culture, history, and overall development of the entire Central Asian region that have definite the identity of the people inhabiting the region. The cities that were important trading cities along this route saw many devastation, invasion, wars, famines, and also glory. Today these hold a great wealth of ancient monuments both in preserved and ruined form which you'll get to see in our Silk Road Tour Packages.
