At 10.00 the walking tour through the Old Town - Icheri Sheher. You will have the opportunity to see "Qosha Qala'?, "Shirvanshah palace'?, St. Nicholas Church, symbol of the city of Baku . "Maiden Tower'?, the chapel of St. Bartholomew, "Caravanserai'?, mosques, etc.

After lunch: A tour to the Museum of Carpet.

The Museum of Carpet and the Folk Applied Arts of Azerbaijan is the first carpet museum in the world (1967).

The fund of the museum has pieces from different regions of Azerbaijan (Qabala, Quba, Shirvan, Ganja, Qazakh, Tabriz and others), carpets with ornaments and different plot stories related to the folk crafts. The last floor of the new carpet museum is dedicated to an interesting genre - pictorial carpets.

Sheki

Lahic is a notable place in Azerbaijan, with its authentic handicrafts traditions, particularly related to copper. The village’s carpet and rug crafts are also well known in Azerbaijan and the South Caucasus. Lahij became an important centre of craftsmen in Azerbaijan. Lahij master craftsmen could create forty types of items related to Folk Art. These skilled craftsmen included jewelers, blacksmiths, carpenters, carpet makers, engravers, painters, tanners, shoemakers and bast shoe makers, sock weavers and others. Many valuable examples of the products of these skills are exhibited in famous museums and collections.

After lunch: A tour to Shaki.

Sheki is set in a picturesque mountain area rich in narrow gorges and green valleys, springs, purest rivers, water falls and mineral water springs framed by dense woods and alpine meadows. The city can boast many historical and architectural places of interest, but its pride is the ancient majestic royal palace of Shekin khans erected in the 18 th century without a single nail with magnificent wall paintings and tracery windows in the stone citadel. Very attractive are Gemsen-Geresen fortress (8-9 th centuries), numerous caravanserais, house of Sheki Khans, Djuma Mosque (18th century), the Gileilin Mosque minaret (18th century), and medieval baths.

A full day guided sightseeing tour around Samarkand: We shall start our tour from visiting the most famous site of Uzbekistan - Registan square, which was the center of Samarkand during centuries. Registan Square is a complex of three monuments: Ulugbek Madrassah (15 th century),Sher-Dor Madrassah (17 century) and Tilla-Kari Madrassah(17 century).

There is another symbol of Samarkand- Gur-Emir Mausoleum ("the grave of Emir'?).The construction of the mausoleum, which was started in 1403,was concerned with the sudden death of Muhammad Sultan,the direct heir and beloved grandson of Tamerlane. In 1405 Timur died in Otrar city and his sons decided to move his body and bury him near his favorite grandson. From that time this mausoleum became the burial-vault of Timurids dynasty.

We will visit Bibi Khanym mosque (the 15th century) it was the bigest mosque in CA, Syob bazaar and Shahi Zinda necropolis of Temurids dynasty ( the 12th - 15th century) where was buried Khusama Ibin Abas, he is cousin of Muhammad Prophet.

The entire day is dedicated to a guided city tour. First of we will visit Rudaki Park, National library, White House, National state seal, House of parliament and Jomi theatre. After it we will walk in National park to make photos of Ministry of Inner Affairs and the biggest National Flag in the world - 165 m high pole, 30 m wide, 60 m long.

After excursion in Central Museum you will have lunch.

Then you will visit to Gurminj Museum of traditional musical instruments. To feel real life you should visit Asian bazar. It has colorful goods, fruits and vegetables. We will see today the main highlightsof Dushanbe and you will find out many interesting facts about Tajik people.

Dinner will be in a traditional restaurant where you try Tajik food.

Dushanbe Penjikent (230 km, 4-5 hours by car)

In the morning we will drive to Penjikent via pass Anzob (3 372 m). The city of Penjikent is located in Khujand area of Tajikistan in a picturesque Zeravshan river valley. Quite possibly the five villages started the history of this remarkable city which originated in the 5th-8th centuries AD. Penjikent of that time was one of the most important cultural and crafts centers of Sogd. It was even named "Central Asian Pompeii'?;. It was a superbly fortified well-organized city with a ruler’s palace, two temples, markets, rich dwelling houses decorated with numerous paintings, wooden and clay statues of ancient gods. The ruins of this ancient city were found only in the last century. Today the tourists can see the remains of dwelling houses and officebuildings, the citadel with the palace, the house of craftsmen, and fire worshiper’s church.

Panjakent Khujand (270, 6 hours by car)

In the morning we will drive to Khujand via pass Shahriston (3 378 m). It is the second largest city of Tajikistan. It is situated on the Syr Darya River at the mouth of the Fergana Valley. The population of the city is 149,000. It is also the capital of the northernmost province of Tajikistan,now called Sughd. First of all you will visit museum of Khujand and then the Arbob Palace. At this place the first president of Tajikistan was chosen. Then we will visit one of the biggest "Tea House'? of Tajikistan situated near the palace. Also we will go to see Central Mosque andPanjshanbe bazaar that are situated in the middle of the city.
