5 Days Uzbekistan Tour (Tour To Aral Sea)

Tour to the Aral Sea is very popular for fans of extreme adventure and extraordinary travel.

The name "Aral Sea" comes from the word "aral" meaning island. The sea's name reflects the fact that it is a vast basin that lies as an island among waterless deserts. The Aral Sea was once the world's fourth largest inland sea. Its problems began in the 1960s with the diversion of the main rivers that feed it to provide for cotton cultivation in arid Soviet Central Asia. Throughout this tour, you will have the unique opportunity to discover Karakalpakstan (Autonomous Republic of Uzbekistan) and drive to the present coast of the Aral Sea to see Ship Graveyard. This region is one of the most ancient centers of civilization in Central Asia. We shall visit monuments whose foundation goes back to the beginning of our era and the world-famousMuseum of Art named after Igor Savitskiy.

At Nukus airport we shall be welcomed by our guide and transferred to the hotel. We shall visit Igor Savitsky Art Museum world-known for its unique collection of paintings and sculptures of Russian Soviet avant-guard of 1920s to 1960s,which contains more than 50 000 paintings and other works of art. Nearby is the Museum of Applied Arts showing local fabrics, traditional clothing and jewelry. The Karakalpak State Museum exhibits examples of natural history, including the very last Turan Tiger, caught in 1972.
