Vahdat Palace

The Vahdat Palace also referred to as The Palace of Unity in Dushanbe is used to host international conferences and is also the headquarters of the ruling People’s Democratic Party.

Dushanbe Flagpole

The second tallest free-standing flagpole in the world, the Dushanbe Flagpole is a flagpole located in front of the Palace of Nations in Dushanbe with a height of 165 metres.

The 30 m × 60 m Flag of Tajikistan weighing 700 kilograms flies on the Flagpole.

Dushanbe Zoo

The Dushanbe Zoological Park or the Dushanbe Zoo is located next to the Pamir Stadium and estimates about twice the size of the stadium. The zoo founded in 1960, lies in the hub of the city on the Luchob river bank.

Gurminj Museum of Musical Instruments

Located in the heart of Dushanbe the Gurminj Museum of Musical Instruments or the Gurminj Museum as it is more popularly known contains 100 musical instruments in the Museum collection essentially embodying the Pamiri and Badakhshani musical tradition.

The instruments’ collection at the museum is dominated by string instruments, such as the Tanbur, Dutor, Setor, Qashqar, Tar, Rubab, Pamirirubab, and Ghizhak. You can also find a number of drums such as the tabla, dafli, and doyra.

Haji Yaqub Mosque

The largest mosque in the CIS, the Haji Yaqub Mosque has a crescent-topped minaret with a burnished golden dome.

Sari Osiyo Mosque

Although a small new mosque, the mosque is considered to be an Ismaili Centre.

St. Nicholas Cathedral

Located close to the Central city cemetery or the Russian Cemetery as the locals call it, St. Nicholas Cathedral is the main Pravoslav church of Dushanbe.

Rokhat Teahouse

The Rokhat Teahouse is an old traditional teahouse known for its interesting architecture. It is located near central Dushanbe on Rudaki.

Botanical Gardens

The Botanical Gardens are the best place to escape the dust and noise of the traffic in Dushanbe. A small forest with plenty of greenery is a quiet and peaceful place for newlywed couples.

The Korvon Bazaar

A bazaar with an extensive indoor apparel and shoe section, the Korvon is also the place you can go to find fabric rugs, although all of the rugs come from Turkey and not Tajikistan. However, the bazaar has a smaller food section and is much cheaper than the Shakhmansur Bazaar.

Shakhmansur Bazaar

The biggest bazaar in downtown Dushanbe with a huge variety of cheaply available foods that includes fresh fruits and vegetables, nuts, spices, meats, dried fruit and bread. You can also find household products an odd assortment of tools in the Centre of the market.

Then the tour continues with a ride to the Medeu Gorge (1690 meters above sea level) well known due to the highest mountain skating rink in the world and the dam, protecting the city from dangerous mudflow. Brief walk around with a chance to take your mountain-view pictures and breath the fresh pine-tree air, then you will take a cable car to Shymbulak ski resort area. Having ridden about 20-25 minutes above magnificent fur-trees up to the altitude of 2260 meters above sea level, you will get to the 1st level of ski resort, occupied by fancy restaurants, ski & snowboarding school and mountain hotel. Then you will go down the back way by cable car. Meanwhile you will be told an interesting story why Almaty is actually called «the Apple city». Overnight in Almaty [3] => Today you will have a trip to the Charyn Canyon. This is one of the unique natural monuments of Kazakhstan. The canyon is about 12 million years old and amazes with its vertical cliffs, reminiscent of ancient castles, created under the influence of wind, sun and rain. It will take you about 3 hours to reach the canyon. Meanwhile, you will be told a lot of interesting things about the history and nature of this region, the Kazakh people as well as their life and traditions. As soon as you see the Charyn Canyon, you will immediately forget about the long distance you traveled and be amazed by the beauty and magnificence of the canyon. You can admire the grandiose panorama and then walk through the labyrinth of the Valley of Castles with its inaccessible walls hanging over you. Then transfer to the village of Saty. Overnight at the guest house. [4] => In the morning we will drive 15 km to Kaindy lake. It is located among a magnificent pine forest at an altitude of 2000 meters above sea level and is famous for its origin. The lake was formed in 1911 as a result of a powerful earthquake, which caused a landslide that blocked the valley with a natural dam. Thus, the water flooded this valley. The water in the lake is very cold, so the needle tops of the flooded trees are well preserved and visible through the transparent surface of the water, and the dry stalks of fir trees come to the surface, like the masts of an underwater squadron. Then you will return to Saty village for lunch. Afterwards you will go 15 km to Kolsai Lake. This is a very beautiful lake with an abundance of mushrooms and located far from civilization. After the walk return to Saty village. Overnight is at the guest house. [5] => After breakfast you will go to Almaty. The journey takes about 4-5 hours. The city of Almaty was the capital of independent Kazakhstan from 1991 to 1997. In 1997, the capital was moved to Nur-Sultan, and since then Almaty has been called the southern capital of Kazakhstan. Almaty remains the main commercial center of the country. The city is located in the mountainous region of southern Kazakhstan. Almaty is the largest and the most developed city, with ethnic and cultural diversity of Kazakhstan. You will visit Historical Museum. In the evening we will go to Kok-Tobe mountains to look at the panorama of the city. The tour ends with a trip from the top of the hill to the city center on the famous cable car. Overnight is at hotel [6] => Breakfast in the hotel In the morning is transfer to Kyrgyz border. After meeting with your Kyrgyz guide you will transfer to Bishkek. Bishkek city is the capital and the largest city of Kyrgyzstan. Bishkek is situated at about 800 meters (2,600 ft) altitude near the northern range of the Kyrgyz Ala Too range. This range is an extension of the Tian Shan mountains, which rises up to 4,855 meters (15,928 ft) and provides a spectacular backdrop to the city. This entire day is dedicated to a city tour of Bishkek. It includes visiting Pobeda Square (Victory Square), Duboviy Park (Oak Park), Central Ala-Too Square, the National Museum, National Philharmonic, and others places of interest. Night is in a hotel. [7] => Breakfast in the hotel Today you will be transferred to Chon Kemin gorge. On route to the gorge you will visit Burana Tower (an 11th century minaret) and an open air museum of Balbals (stone warriors). After an interesting excursion and climbing on the top of the tower is transfer to Chon Kemin gorge. Here you will meet a nice family that will prepare a traditional lunch for you. In the afternoon we will have 3 hours of horse riding. Your route will go high in the mountains and you will even ride horses through a mountain forest. On the top you will see the panorama view of the gorge. The night will be in a guest house. [8] => Breakfast in the hotel Today you will be transferred to the celestial Issyk Kul Lake, the second largest alpine lake in the world (1608 m above sea level). The lake is called "the pearl of Central Asia". For more than 1 500 years local people considered the lake to be a sacred one. You can come up to the lake and to see mountains all around it. Today you will drive along the whole northern shore and arrive to Karakol town. Also we will visit today a place with ancient stone patterns – petroglyphs. In Karakol we will visit the Dungan mosque. It was built in Chinese style without using a single metal nail. This will be followed by the visit of an old wooden Orthodox Church. Night is in a hotel. [9] => Today we will drive to Jeti Oguz gorge. It’s famous for its red rocks formations that have a name Seven Bulls – Jeti Oguz. Also you will see there the Broken Heart Mountain. If you want it is possible to go on a top of a mountain (20 minutes) to see a panorama view of the gorge. Then we continue our trip, breaking in Bokonbaeva village, where we will meet a local eagle-hunter. He hunts hares and foxes with the help of eagles (a traditional way of nomadic hunting). Night is in a guest house. [10] => Today we start our drive to the second largest lake in Kyrgyzstan – Son Kul Lake. This lake is surrounded by mountains and it is the highest alpine lake in Kyrgyzstan, situated at an altitude of 3013 meters above sea level. Kyrgyz nomads started to come to this wonderful area with their families for rest and relaxation. Herders of the Naryn region come to the lake to use it as a pastureland. After our arrival, you will have lunch and then drive to Moldo Ashuu Pass (3201 m). It is considered one of the most beautiful passes in Kyrgyzstan. From the top of Moldo Ashu Pass, you can see almost the entire road winding up to the pass. It also affords spectacular views of the Naryn Valley and some stunning mountain ranges to the south. Overnight is in nomadic collapsible dwellings – yurts. They are made of a wooden skeleton, covered with felt coverings. [11] => After meeting with locals, we will drive to the capital of Kyrgyzstan – Bishkek city. The road to the city goes through 33 parrots pass (3 133 m). In Kochkor village you will spend some time with a family that will show you the way our national felt carpets are produced. Also you will visit a small handicraft museum there. They have many examples of silver decorations, coats made of wolves, horse saddle decorations, carpets and more. Afterwards you will be transferred to the capital of Kyrgyzstan – Bishkek city. Night is in a hotel. [12] => 09.00 Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning we will transfer you to the airport for a flight to the city of Osh. In Osh city you will have a walk and will get to visit a famous and special place – Suleiman Mountain. Suleiman Too (Solomon’s Mountain) is situated in the city center and it is considered a place of pilgrimage for local Muslims, because according to the legend, biblical prophet Solomon (Suleiman, in the Koran) was buried at the foot of it. [13] => In the morning is transfer to Uzbek border. Osh-Ferghana-Tashkent by car Night in a hotel in Tashkent [14] => Breakfast at the hotel Oibek border – Khujand Tajik guide will meet you on the border and drive to Khujand city. It is the second largest city of Tajikistan. It is situated on the Syr Darya River at the mouth of the Fergana Valley. The population of the city is 149,000. It is also the capital of the northernmost province of Tajikistan, now called Sughd. You will visit in the afternoon a Cultural Palace of Khujant. At this place the first president of Tajikistan was chosen. Also we will go to see Central Mosque that is situated in the middle of the city. Night is in a hotel. [15] => Breakfast at the hotel Our trip today is to high Mountain lake – Iskanderkul (2 255 m. a. s. l.). It is situated in the famous Fann Mountains. This fabulous area is one of the best places of Central Asia. After arrival to the lake you will go for a walk along it beaches. Also we will hike to see the hugest waterfall known as Niagara of Fann Mountains. Tajikistan takes the second place among the CIS countries for volume of water resources: it has the highest water reserves of all Central Asian countries with more than 1 000 rivers, 2 000 lakes and 8000 glaciers. After having the rest near the lake we will have a night in a guest house. Overnight at guesthouse [16] => In the morning is drive to Dushanbe via Anzob pass (3 372 m) and tunnel of Isticlol. The road will go over a mountain passes and you will have many photo stops. The second half of the day is dedicated to a guided city tour. First of we will visit Rudake Park, National library, White House, National state seal, and House of parliament. After it we will walk in National park to make photos of Ministry of Inner Affairs and the biggest National Flag in the world – 165 m high pole, 30 m wide, 60 m long. After excursion in Central Museum you will have lunch. Then you will visit to Gurminj Museum of traditional musical instruments. Night is in a hotel. [17] => Today we will drive to Norak city. You will see Norak water reservoir that is called Tajik Sea. We will drive over Chormahzak and Shar – Shar passes including the tunnels. Nurek is a city in the Khatlon province of Tajikistan. It is situated on the Vakhsh River, 885m above sea level, and is 70km southeast of Dushanbe, the capital. It has a population of 19,000. The city was founded on the site of the former village of Nurek, whose name means «pomegranate» in tajik language the modern city was established in 1960 to support the construction of nearby Nurek Dam, which was completed in 1980. The Nurek Dam is the world highest dam, 300m (984ft) on Vakhsh River in Tajikistan. The Dam is located in a deep gorge along the Vakhsh River in western Tajikistan. You will have stop for the photos. You can make a lot of pictures. After sightseeing in Nurek you will drive back to Dushanbe. Overnight at Hotel. [18] => Today you will do a day trip from Dushanbe to the Seven Lakes (Marquzor Lakes), about 60 km south of Panjakent. At this place you will have time to go for short hiking. There road goes along a gorge where 7 lakes are located. They are situated on different altitudes and have different colors. Also you will meet local people that live at that area. It will be very interesting to see their way of life. After hiking we will drive to Penjakent. Quite possibly the five villages started the history of this remarkable city which originated in the 5th-8th centuries AD. Penjikent of that time was one of the most important cultural and crafts centers of Sogd. It was even named "Central Asian Pompeii". It was a superbly fortified well-organized city with a ruler's palace, two temples, markets, rich dwelling houses decorated with numerous paintings, wooden and clay statues of ancient gods. [19] => In the morning is transfer to Uzbek border 11:00 Excursion program in Samarkand Visit to the famous Mausoleum of Amir Timur - "Gur Emir" and his family tomb - a masterpiece of architecture of the 14th century. The city of Penjakent ("five villages") is located in a picturesque Zeravshan river valley. Quite possibly the five villages started the history of this remarkable city which originated in the 5th-8th centuries AD. Penjikent of that time was one of the most important cultural and crafts centers of Sogd. It was even named "Central Asian Pompeii". The ruins of this ancient city were found only in the last century. Today the tourists can see the remains of dwelling houses and office buildings, the citadel with the palace, the house of craftsmen, and fire worshiper’s church. We will drive today to the Fannsky Gory (Fan Mountains). They are one of Central Asia's most popular hiking areas. You will do a day trip from Panjakent to the Seven Lakes (Marquzor Lakes), about 60 km south of Panjakent. At this place you will have time to go for short hiking. There road goes along a gorge where 7 lakes are located. They are situated on different altitudes and have different colors. Also you will meet local people that live at that area. It will be very interesting to see their way of life. Then you will drive back to Panjakent.

                    [12] => Our trip today is to high Mountain lake – Iskanderkul (2 255 m. a. s. l.). It is situated in the famous Fann Mountains. This fabulous area is one of the best places of Central Asia. After arrival to the lake you will go for a walk along it beaches. Also we will a hike to see a waterfall. 

You will drive to Dushanbe via Anzob pass. The road will go over a mountain passes and you will have many photo stops. Upon arrival to Dushanbe you will drive 35 km to visit Hisor fortress (VII- XVII centuries). This historical site has fortified areas and citadel. The fortress used to be the residence of the delegate of the Emir of Bukhara; it was located on a high hill and was well defended with 1 m thick walls and loopholes for guns and cannons. In the evening you will have night walk in the city center. We will visit Rudake Park, National library, White House, National state seal, House of parliament and etc. After it we will walk in National park to make photos of Ministry of Inner Affairs and the second biggest National Flag in the world – 165 m high pole, 30 m wide, 60 m long. We will see today the main highlights of Dushanbe and you will find out many interesting facts about Tajik people.

                    [13] => Today we will drive to Kalai Khum village. You will see Norak water reservoir that is called Tajik Sea. The highest point of the day is Shuraba pass (2 267 m) and after drive along Afghanistan border starts. This part will amaze you by its unique mountains – it is already Territory of Pamir Mountains. Over the centuries, the Pamirs have inspired the world’s greatest explorers – Marco Polo, Hsuan Tsang, Mirza Muhammad Haidar. And now you also have a chance to travel here. You will drive along natural border – Pyanj River. Having visited the Pamirs, many travellers called this giant mountain system the ocean of white and blue mountains. This night you will spend in a home stay to see the way of local people’s life.

                    [14] => In the morning we will drive to Khrorog. It is perhaps one of the tiniest cities on the map of the world. It is surrounded by rocky mountains from all four sides. The town was built on the confluence of the 3 rivers where Shokhdara river and Ghund river flow into Pyanj river. On the way to Khorog you will meet Pamir people. A number of anthropological features set the Pamir people apart from the Tajik people. Among the Pamiris, there is a high percentage of people with blonde hair, fair skin and blue eyes. Pamirs Mountains are the highest mountains in the world with human population after the Himalayas in Tibet. Life in the mountains made traditions of local people different from Tajik people. Dinner is in a restaurant. 
Night is in a guesthouse.
                    [15] => Today we will drive along Tajik-Afgan border to Ishkashim. Drive towards the Wakhan corridor. On the road we will visit Kah-Kaa and Yamchun fortresses, further up the hillside are the hot spring at Bibi Fatima: dense and very salty minerals, the water at Bibi Fatima is crystal clear.  There are several places of interest to stop.  Above the village of Vrang , on a cliff-side pitted with caves, stands a Buddhist complex dating from 4th- 7th centuries. At Yamg , we visit the reconstructed home of Sufi mystic Muabara Kadam , who died in 1910. Near this house there is stone pillar with a hole in it which he used to calculate a solar calendar.

                    [16] => The most beautiful lakes of the Pamirs are Yashil Kul and Bulunkul (Blue lakes), stretched on the altitude of 3 700 meters above sea level, are situated in the Murghab district. Today we will spend a night near them. The color of water in Bulunkul is a subtle inter-play of violet and dark-blue in the sunlight. Species of fish like are found in abundance in the lake. There is the opportunity to see yaks, a unique species of domestic animals, sharing features of cow and sheep, traditionally used as a beast of burden apart from giving milk and meat products. On the way to the lake you will drive over Khargush pass (4 344 m). Dinner and night is in a home stay.
                    [17] => Right on the highway of the Pamir Tract is situated the light-blue lake of Karakul (3, 815 m), the name of which can be translated as “The Black Lake”. On the way to the lake you will drive over the highest Ak Baital pass (4 655 m). Karakul is the highest large mountain lake of the world, excluding those in Tibet and Titicaca. The lake is situated in a meteorite crater and surrounded by swampy and wet meadows and bogs with a rich flora and fauna and several endemic species. The largest of a string of 42 small lakes, Tulpar Kol stretches for nearly a kilometre in between the final small foothills and the first major ridge of the Trans-Alay range. Strolling the quiet lake shore or searching out the other 41 lakes nearby offers ever-changing angles on the peaks and glaciers leading towards Lenin far above. At 3 500 m, though, you may well run out of breath before you run out of lakes.

After it you will cross the border and drive towards the view of Peak Lenin (7 134 m) which is the third highest peak in the former Soviet Union and is considered to be one of the easiest mountains over 7 000 m. Because of this fact it has become one of the most popular peaks in the world and annually receives hundreds of climbers from all over the world. Famous for its Soviet era summit artifacts and infamous for its bad and unpredictable weather. Then transfer to Sary Tash village. Night is in a homestay.

                    [18] => Today we will drive from Tulpar Lake to Osh city. The road will go along amazing mountains and high passes. On the way you will drive over a high mountain pass – Taldik. It is 3 615 meters high! You will never forget the amazing views of the road and mountains around it. With 93% of mountains in Kyrgyzstan, nomadic life in remote places – our country is a real paradise for people that are in love with mountains and unusual cultures. The route takes you along roads that wind along incredible gorges. During the day be prepared for amazing views of the impressive mountains and gorges.

In Osh city you will have a walk and will get to visit a famous and special place – Suleiman Mountain. Suleiman Too (Solomon’s Mountain) is situated in the city center and it is considered a place of pilgrimage for local Muslims, because according to the legend, biblical prophet Solomon (Suleiman, in the Koran) was buried at the foot of it. Afternoon drive to the city of Margilan
The city of Margilan is located 20 km from Fergana and is one of the oldest cities in the Fergana Valley. Since ancient times, Margilan was famous for its fine and fine silk and ikat patterns. The most famous landmark of the city of Margilan is "Yodgorlik" silk weaving factory. Visit Fazlidinna master for the production of hand-woven fabric.

In the morning we go to Kokand, which is the main transport hub in the Ferghana Valley, leading to the northwest through the mountains to Tashkent, and to the west to Khujand. In Kokand we will visit the palace of the 19th century Khudayar Khan. After losing his power over his possessions, Khudayar Khan spent all his money and energy on decorating his city with a host of elegant mosques, madrassas and his huge palace with its 113 ornate rooms - 19 of which are currently open as a museum. Another beautiful monument to the mausoleum of Modari Khan is a burial vault for all women, khan's relatives.

                    [1] => Our driver will meet you in the airport and accompany to Dushanbe. The entire day is dedicated to a guided city tour. First of we will visit Rudake Park, National library, White House, National state seal, and House of parliament. After it we will walk in National park to make photos of Ministry of Inner Affairs and the biggest National Flag in the world – 165 m high pole, 30 m wide, 60 m long. After excursion in Central Museum you will have lunch. Then you will visit to Gurminj Museum of traditional musical instruments. To feel real life you should visit Asian bazar. It has colorful goods, fruits and vegetables. We will see today the main highlights of Dushanbe and you will find out many interesting facts about Tajik people. Night is in a hotel.
                    [2] => Dushanbe – Iskanderkul Lake 
Our trip today is to high Mountain lake – Iskanderkul (2 255 m. a. s. l.). It is situated in the famous Fann Mountains. This fabulous area is one of the best places in Central Asia. The road to the lakes goes over Anzob pass (3 372 m) with amazing panorama views. After arrival to the lake you will go for a walk along its beaches. This is an amazing place to have a rest. Also we will hike 40 minutes to see a waterfall. Tajikistan takes the second place among the CIS countries for volume of water resources: it has the highest water reserves of all Central Asian countries with more than 1 000 rivers, 2 000 lakes and 8000 glaciers. Night is in a homestay.
                    [3] => In the morning we will drive to Penjakent. The city of Penjakent ("five villages") is located in the Sughd area of Tajikistan in a picturesque Zeravshan river valley. Quite possibly the five villages started the history of this remarkable city which originated in the 5th-8th centuries AD. Penjikent of that time was one of the most important cultural and crafts centers of Sogd. It was even named "Central Asian Pompeii". Overnight is in a hotel.
                    [4] => Today we will visit the archaeological site of the ruins of Old Panjakent and the Old City of Sarazm which was a popular stop on the the Silk road many centuries ago. The ruins of this ancient city were found only in the last century. Today the tourists can see the remains of dwelling houses and office buildings, the citadel with the palace, the house of craftsmen, and fire worshiper’s church. You will visit the Rudaki museum. Transfer to the border by 13:00.

 The day starts from visiting the one of the most mysterious Shakhi-Zinda Necropolis, where you will find a complex consisting of more than twenty buildings, unique in Central Asia.
Visit Ulugbek Observatory - incredible construction of 15 century for studying astronomy and Afrosiab Museum.The museum is located on the site of ancient settlement called Afrosiab. In 1220 the city was almost completely destroyed by the Mongol ruler Genghis Khan.

Passing from Uzbek Border to Kyrgyz border
Your driver will pick you up at Uzbek-Kyrgyz border and accompany you to Osh city. In Osh city you will go for a walk there and visit the most famous place – Suleiman Mountain. Suleiman Too (Solomon’s Mountain) is situated in the center of the city and it is considered to be a pilgrimage place for local Muslims. According to the legend, biblical prophet Solomon (Suleiman in the Koran) was buried at the foot of it. After it we will visit an Asian bazar. Night you will spend in hotel.
                    [14] => Osh – Bishkek – Burana – Chon Kemin 
In the morning you will have a flight to Bishkek. Then you will be transferred to Chon Kemin gorge. On route to the gorge you will visit Burana Tower (an 11th century minaret) and an open air museum of Balbals (stone warriors). After an interesting excursion and climbing on the top of the tower is transfer to Chon Kemin gorge. Here you will meet a nice family that will prepare a traditional lunch for you. In the afternoon we will have 3 hours of horse riding. Your route will go high in the mountains and you will even ride horses through a mountain forest. On the top you will see the panorama view of the gorge. The night and dinner will be in a guesthouse.
                    [15] => Chon Kemin – Issyk Kul Lake northern shore – Karakol
Today you will be transferred to the celestial Issyk Kul Lake, the second largest alpine lake in the world (1608m.above sea level). The lake is called "the pearl of Central Asia". For more than 1 500 years local people considered the lake to be a sacred one. 
You can come up to the lake and to see mountains all around it. Today you will drive along the whole northern shore and arrive to Karakol town. Also we will visit today a place with ancient stone patterns – petroglyphs. In Karakol we will visit the Dungan mosque. It was built in Chinese style without using a single metal nail. This will be followed by the visit of an old wooden Orthodox Church.
Your dinner will be in a local restaurant.

                    [16] => Karakol – Jeti Oguz – Issyk Kul southern shore – Bishkek 
Today we will drive to Jeti Oguz gorge. It’s famous for its red rocks formations that have a name Seven Bulls – Jeti Oguz. Also you will see there the Broken Heart Mountain. If you want it is possible to go on a top of a mountain (20 minutes) to see a panorama view of the gorge. Then we continue our trip, breaking in Bokonbaeva village, where we will meet a local eagle-hunter. He hunts hares and foxes with the help of eagles. It is an ancient kind of hunting animals preserved from generation to generation. You will find out a lot of interesting facts about it. After this visit we will continue our way to Bishkek. Night in a hotel.
