The new long-distance train will connect eight regions of the country and will influence the development of domestic tourism, according to the Ministry of Transport.
A new long-distance train route appeared in Uzbekistan: “Kungirat – Namangan – Andijan – Kungirat.
In total, the train covers almost four thousand kilometers, and it has already made its first trip, according to the press service of the Ministry of Transport.
Passengers living in Kungirat will be able to visit the cities of Khojeyli, Nukus, Uchkuduk, Navoi, Samarkand, Djizak, Gulistan, Tashkent, Namangan and Andijan. And from Andijan it will be possible to go back to Kungirat.
The new transport connection will link as many as eight regions of Uzbekistan. People living in Karakalpakstan will have access to travel to the Fergana Valley, as well as from the valley and other cities and districts of the republic to the Aral Sea region.
The launch of the new route will create great opportunities for the development of domestic tourism in the country, according to the Ministry of Transport. Moreover, the railway stations in Kungirat, Khojeyli, Uchkuduk and Namangan will create new jobs along the route, the department says.
According to the schedule, the train will depart from Kungirat on Saturdays, and from Andijan – on Sundays.
In the future, Uzbekistan Temir Yollari plans to increase the number of trains on this route depending on the needs of passengers, the press service said.
