The East is a delicate matter!
I first visited Uzbekistan as a tourist this year. In the 1980s, I often came to Tashkent for work. Since then, the city has changed beyond recognition. The central districts of the city have become more spacious, and a lot of modern architecture in the form of buildings, museums and monuments has appeared. The subway was a real joy – it’s just as cozy, clean, and beautiful. It was noticeable that in some places there was restoration, but in general the stations preserved their original appearance since 1977.
I also visited Samarkand and Bukhara. In my opinion, there is no better place for those who want to get acquainted with the culture of the East and feel its true spirit.
Unfortunately, I did not have time to get acquainted with many other historical sites. I hope to come again for a longer time.
For the organization of the trip, I recommend to contact the local travel agencies, overpay quite a bit, but the pleasure of a professionally organized trip will get more guaranteed. That is what I did. I turned to a company that was recommended to me by friends.

Unconventional vacation
This is a crazy idea,” I said when my daughter suggested that we go to Uzbekistan instead of Sri-Lanka. So did all of our friends and relatives when we finally went there – for four days in Bukhara and Samarkand.
It was amazing, we both said on arrival. Because:
We saw unique architectural monuments.
For the first time we felt really friendly and hospitable attitude to the Russians.
For the first time felt like rich tourists – the prices for everything, especially food, are low.
Uzbek cuisine and their wonderful teahouses – it is worth going just for that.
The peculiar color of local life, different from other Muslim countries, is worth to feel.
The Central Asian climate, dry heat, is easy to bear and, in my opinion, is good for us, northern people.
Although travelling in Uzbekistan is comfortable, safe and cheap, be open to communication-Uzbeks are amazingly kind, helpful and hospitable.
The only exception is their customs at airports, I agree that you should be mentally prepared for it. Russian tourists are waiting for you in Uzbekistan! Many Uzbeks asked us to say so.

The magic of the mountains.
One of the most picturesque places to rest in Uzbekistan are Chimgan mountains, which are good in any season.
For fans of extreme sports is where to go. In the region of Chimgan and Beldersay all conditions for winter sports are organized. The only drawback, perhaps, is the significant cost of renting accommodation and sports equipment. The season usually opens in December and lasts until early spring. It should also be noted climatic features – winters in Uzbekistan are quite warm, the snow is sometimes sticky and wet, which can spoil the impression of rest, so it is worth checking the weather forecast in advance.
In spring the mountains are unusually beautiful – amateur photographers will have plenty of opportunities to capture unusual landscapes.
Of course, the most season is summer, not as hot as on the plains. Those who want comfortable conditions can find a lot of rest houses, and on the Little Chimgan, in the area of “nine-storied”, there are also swimming pools, where for a relatively low fee you can swim in plenty of fresh air. Lovers of “wild recreation” can go hiking along the natural rivers and make stops near the savannahs.
