Pakistan’s airline PIA will launch regular flights to Uzbekistan in January 2022, the Podrobno.uz correspondent reported citing data from the Ministry of Transport.
This issue was discussed at a meeting at the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan with the participation of representatives of the Embassy of Pakistan and the management of PIA.
During the talks, the Uzbek side spoke in detail about the measures taken to attract foreign airlines to the domestic aviation market and create favorable conditions for them. In particular, only this year, fees for services at airports have been reduced by 42%, and for flights carried out as part of pilgrimage tourism – by 50%.
PIA’s representative in Uzbekistan Muhammad Wakkos announced plans to establish regular flights on Islamabad-Tashkent and Karachi-Tashkent routes. The airline intends to establish flights on these routes from January 2022.
As a result of the meeting, the sides agreed to continue joint work to establish regular flights on the established directions.
