    Journey to Issyk-Kul, Kyrgyzstan

    You can travel all over Central Asia, but if you have not seen Lake Issyk-Kul, the trip is not complete. Minzifa Travel will be happy to be your guide to the world of boundless lakes of Kyrgyzstan!

    What to see around Issyk-Kul?

    The name of Lake Issyk-Kul translates as "Hot Lake. Why is it hot? Because it does not freeze even in winter. Because of the long shoreline (over 650 km) the lake has many interesting sights, which every tourist should see.

    Issyk-Kul is a natural tourist attraction, so people come here not because of the cultural monuments, but because of the healing mineral waters, therapeutic mud and thermal springs. For a trip to Kyrgyzstan to be an exciting adventure, it is definitely worth a visit:

    • Cholpon-Ata resort. The muds and waters of this resort are often compared to those of Essentuki: they have antibacterial and analgesic effects. For the cultural program there is a Ferris wheel, water park, amusement rides, Stone Garden with preserved ruins from the times of the Silk Road;

    • Bosteri village - fair, honey, cherries, apricots, clear water, summer bases and diving;
    • Tamga-Tash - three ancient stones are located here since VIII century. The composition is a Buddhist shrine: Tibetan letters have sacred meaning and give energy to every traveler;
    • Dead Lake. With the Israeli sea they are united not only by the name, but also by the features of the water: it is so salty that it is impossible to drown in it. It is worth understanding that in the vicinity of the lake there is no infrastructure, except yurts. But for connoisseurs of a secluded rest this will be a plus;
    • one of the gorges. Boom Gorge is famous for its amazing scenery, mountain herbs and conifers. Jety-Oguz is an alpine valley, and the rock with the name "Broken Heart" attracts lovers tourists and locals. Barskaun is a gorge famous for its waterfalls. The Kyrgyz gave them interesting names - Splashes of Champagne and Tears of a Leopard. Yuri Gagarin often vacationed here.

    Issyk-Kul is already a full-fledged attraction, for which tourists specially come to Kyrgyzstan. The lake has no drains, so it only accumulates and does not consume minerals. At the resort, tourists can hang gliding, diving, and climbing.

    Weather at Lake Issyk-Kul

    The area around Issyk-Kul has a moderate maritime climate. Remarkably, it is almost always sunny here: much sunnier than on the Black Sea coast. Since the climate is mild, there is no exhausting heat in summer and excessive cold in winter. In July the thermometer reaches 24 ° C, and in winter it rarely drops below -6 ° C.

    When is the best time to go to Issyk-Kul?

    Unlike most similar resorts, spring is not the best time to explore the lake. At this time of year it is wet and still quite cool - about 10 ° C. But the season lasts all year round, during the off-season prices are reduced, so if you want you can have a good time in April or May. The most comfortable time to travel is July and August. In early summer the water is still cool, and in the fall it is already cold nights and rains.

    Issyk-Kul is one of Asia's premier resorts, where every tourist will find something to do. Closeness to nature and equipped hotels, the opportunity to live in a yurt and ride horses, local exotics and national dishes - this is Kyrgyzstan at its best.
