Nowruz is a celebration of the New Year in many Eastern countries, which according to the astronomical solar calendar is celebrated on March 21.
The word "Nowruz" means "new day" in Persian. It is a celebration of the Spring Equinox, it is a national tradition and has nothing to do with Islamic customs.
Nowruz symbolizes the unification of all people and representatives of different religious denominations. According to this custom, jumping over the bonfire, people ask the nature of an abundant harvest and prosperous life. Even women with small children jump over the campfire, believing that in this way they protect themselves and their children from evil spirits.
