Individual foreign traveller is required to have a valid passport in a few nations, tourists require Kyrgyzstan visa. Visas are issued at the Kyrgyz Embassy in the guest's nation of origin. Visa can be collected at the Embassy of Kazakhstan or the Embassy of Russia, in countries where Kyrgyzstan does not have a Consulate, Embassy, or Diplomatic Representative. Correspondingly, tourist visas are issued at the Bishkek Airport upon entry. In the past nationals of all countries (with the exception of CIS) required a Letter on Invitation before visas could be conceded.
