    Tajikistan Museums

The lifestyle of Tajikistan has advanced over numerous thousand years. Tajik culture may be divided into regions, Metropolitan and Kohistan. Tajikistan continues to be a developing country, however, the ancient memories have been preserved in the numerous museums across the country. Here's a list of Tajikistan's museums.

    Gurminj Museum Of Musical Instruments

Located in the heart of Dushanbe the Gurminj Museum of Musical Instruments or the Gurminj Museum as it is more popularly known contains 100 musical instruments in the Museum collection essentially embodying the Pamiri and Badakhshani musical tradition.

The instruments' collection at the museum is dominated by string instruments, such as the Tanbur, Dutor, Setor, Qashqar, Tar, Rubab, Pamiri rubab, and Ghizhak. You can also find a number of drums such as the tabla, dafli, and doyra.

Mug Teppe: A Fortress In Istaravshan

Rising above the low-level housing in the area, the Mug Teppe is a grassy, flat-topped hill that once upon a time boasted a fine citadel. It lies in the northeastern part of the city.

When exposed at a specific angle, it looks strikingly impressive from afar and provides a good vantage point from which the visitors can survey the Istaravshan's mountain horizon.

    Shahr-E-Kuhn: Old Town In Istaravshan

The old town of Shahr-e-Kuhn is an intriguing network of mudbrick alleys with water canals running along the centre of the roadway. The old townhouses are tantalisingly concealed from the look that lies behind the straw-and-wattle plastered brickwork.

However, an open doorway occasionally grants a glimpse into the central courtyard adorned and furnished inevitably with roses.

    The Rudaki Museum

The Rudaki museum exhibits frescoes from the ancient city of Panjakent that depict a battle, a banquet and other daily life scenes. You can also find statues of Zoroastrian divinity and a wooden statue of a dancing woman in the museum.

It also highlights exhibits from Sarazm, a Neolithic site a few kilometres apart from artefacts and frescoes from the archaeological site nearby the city.

    Hakim At-Termezi Architectural Complex

By the southwestern dividers of the medieval fortress of Old Termez rise the blue domes of Hakim at-Termezi architectural complex, on the bank of the Amudarya river. Medieval Uzbekistan gave the world numerous prominent people. Among them was Isa Muhammad ibn Savra ibn Musa advertisement Dahhak as-Sulami, referred to in the Islamic world as Imam at-Termezi.

    Sultan-Saodat Memorial Sultan-Saodat Memorial

In some Termez landmarks rather clear is the soul of ages' coherence, the memory of the gleaming history of Surkhandarya, honouring the memory of precursors, is Sultan-Saodat Memorial.

    Tajikistan United Museum

The museum comprises the displays of history, natural history and workmanship.

    Museum Of Ethnography

The collection includes a professional exhibition of 20th-century Tajik art such as cloaks, embroidery, jewellery, musical instruments, pottery, carpets, woodwork and more.

30km away from the city is the Hissar Fortress. In addition to the fortress, there are two plain madrassahs, one dating from the eighteenth century and the other nineteenth, and past them is the museum of the sixteenth century.

Tajikistan is a cradle of historical sites. The old conventional buildings are eye-catchers midst the mountainous backdrops. Call us or visit our website to book your Tajikistan museum tour now and learn more about Tajikistan museums.
