    Best time to visit Morocco

    Summer 2026

Summer brings scorching temperatures to inland cities such as Marrakech and Fes, often exceeding 40°C (104°F). However, coastal destinations like Essaouira, Casablanca, and Tangier remain pleasantly cool thanks to Atlantic breezes, making them excellent summer retreats. Early morning and evening sightseeing is recommended if visiting inland.

    Autumn 2026

Autumn offers another perfect window for travel. The intense summer heat fades, creating comfortable conditions for city tours, desert excursions, and trekking. Markets are lively after the harvest season, and the weather remains sunny and dry across much of the country. September and October are particularly popular for Sahara camping experiences.

    Winter 2026 / 2027

Winter is mild in most cities, with daytime temperatures between 15–20°C (59–68°F), although nights can be chilly. The Atlas Mountains receive snowfall, creating opportunities for skiing and winter hiking. The Sahara Desert is pleasant during the day but can become very cold after sunset. Winter is also a quieter travel season, often offering lower accommodation prices outside the holiday period.

    Spring 2027

Spring is considered the ideal season to explore Morocco. Temperatures are comfortable across most regions, ranging from 20–28°C (68–82°F) during the day. Wildflowers bloom in the countryside, the Atlas Mountains are lush and green, and the Sahara is warm without the intense heat of summer. This is also a great time for outdoor adventures, sightseeing, and photography.
