Navoi (Navoiy) is a major industrial hub and the administrative center of Navoi Region in central Uzbekistan. Named after the celebrated 15th-century Turkic poet and scholar Alisher Navoi, it is one of the country's youngest cities, planned and built in the mid-20th century alongside vast mineral resources, chemical industries, and gold mining operations.
