Tour To Yurt Camp In Ayadarkul begins with a trip to Nuratau in Kyzyl Kum desert region. On the way there will be several stops. First stop — Gidzhduvan town. Here you will visit the famous ceramics workshop of well known school "Gijduvan Ceramics", and Memorial Al Gijduvani and Ulugbek Madrassah.

The next stop in Sarmyshsay is a buffer zone which is famous for its rock paintings (petroglyphs).

In Nuratau you will visit ruins of the fort of Alexander the Great and Chasma Ayub secret complex. And the final destination is the Yurt Camp, located in the vast expanses of the majestic Kyzyl Kum desert, next to Aydarkul lake. You can become a real nomad man — you will feel the romance of dunes, see myriad of stars during the night in Yurts.

The food is cooked on the campfire and song-stories of local bard will make your night unforgettable and enjoyable. The tour program to the Yurt Camp is included camel riding to the nearest village. Here you can try hot and tasty Uzbek bread straight from the tandoor. And take a walk to Ayadarkul lake, make picture of beautiful landscape of this place.

In the evening you will taste delicious dinner of local cuisine.

Next day departure to Samarkand.

Itinerary

Day 1: Bukhara-Sarmishsay-Nurata

Bukhara → Gijduvan → Sarmyshsay → Nuratau → Yurt Camp (Aydarkul Lake)

Early Morning Departure from Bukhara Drive to Sarmyshsay Gorge (150 km, approx. 2 hrs).

En Route Stops:

  1. Gijduvan town – visit the ceramics workshop of one of Uzbekistan’s most famous pottery masters. Here you will learn about the centuries-old tradition of Gijduvan ceramics and see how clay transforms into colorful works of art.
  2. Sarmyshsay Natural Reserve – an open-air museum known as the “Gallery of the Stone Age.”
    • More than 3,000 petroglyphs carved into the dark stones of the gorge.
    • Depictions of wild animals, hunting scenes, rituals, and everyday life of prehistoric people.
    • A unique chance to immerse yourself in the ancient history of Central Asia. Nuratau region – visit the Chashma Ayub complex and the ruins of Nur Fortress, originally founded by Alexander the Great in the 4th century B.C. The site is considered sacred, with a holy spring and a serene atmosphere.

Arrival at Yurt Camp (near Aydarkul Lake, Kyzyl Kum Desert)

  1. Settle into your traditional yurts surrounded by the vast desert landscape.
  2. Walk around dunes or take a short trip to admire Aydarkul Lake (optional).

Evening Program:

  • Dinner in the yurt camp with traditional nomadic dishes cooked on an open fire.
  • Around the campfire: performance of a Kazakh bard (Akin) with folk songs and stories, under the starry desert sky.
