Itinerary
Day 1: Fergana-Rishtan-Kokand
Arrival in Fergana → Rishtan → Kokand → Fergana
Morning / Arrival: Meeting at Fergana Airport with your guide. Transfer to hotel, check-in, and short rest.
Excursion to Rishtan (50 km):
- Visit the famous ceramics workshops of Rishtan, a town where pottery traditions date back centuries.
- Discover the unique blue “ishkor” glaze, made from natural mineral pigments and ash of mountain plants.
- Meet hereditary master potters – in Rishtan almost every third family is engaged in ceramics.
Transfer to Kokand: Explore Kokand, the former capital of the powerful Kokand Khanate (18th–19th centuries), once home to 35 madrassahs and over 100 mosques.
Sightseeing highlights:
- Khudayar Khan’s Palace (19th century) – the grand palace with richly decorated halls, part of which now serves as a museum.
- Jami Mosque – the central Friday mosque of Kokand.
- Narbuta-Bey Madrassah – one of the best-preserved Islamic schools of the khanate.
Modari-Khan Mausoleum – burial place of the khan’s female relatives.
Evening: Return transfer to Fergana, accommodation at the hotel, and rest.
