Overview

Fascinating two days tour is a unique opportunity to learn more about the most interesting historical facts about Kyrgyzstan.

During this tour you will visit the Kyrgyz pearl – Issyk – Kul lake. You will enjoy not only the natural beauty but also will see a lot of cultural sights. There you will visit the most popular cultural complex “Rukh Ordo”, an open air museum of Petroglyphs, historical museum and Burana tower. This tour will present you a lot of memorable impressions.


09:00 – 10:00 Drive from Bishkek to Burana tower.

10:00 – 11:30 Burana Museum Complex visit

12:00 – 13:00 Lunch in a local family

13:00 – 17:00 Transfer to the Issyk–Kul lake (Cholpon Ata city)

17:30 – 18:30 Excursion in museum of Petroglyphs

19:00 – 20:00 Dinner in a hotel

 

Day 2:

09:00 – 10:00 Breakfast

10:00 – 10:40 Excursion in the Issyk-Kul State Historical and Cultural Museum

11:00 – 13:00 Excursion in “Rukh Ordo”

13:00 – 14:00 Lunch in a café

14:00 – 18:00 Transfer to Bishkek

 

Meeting place: Main door of the State Historical Museum, Ala Too Square, 9 am.


Useful things to take with you:

  5. Photo camera.
  6. Sun-screen cream (SPF 30 or higher).
  7. Insect repellent (skin + clothes).
  8. Personal hygiene kit (disinfection gel is highly recommended) + some toilet paper.
  9. Swimming suit (for Issyk-Kul)
  10. Flashlight (torch)

Itinerary

9:00 am pick up from the place we agreed beforehand in Bishkek city.

Today we head to the Issyk Kul Lake. First of all one hour drive to Tokmok town to visit Burana Tower historical complex for excursion, that also lasts 1 hour. After excursion drive 15 minutes more to reach lunch place in a local family of Tokmok town (included).

Later drive to Issyk Kul Lake. Around 3-4 pm arrival to Cholpon Ata town, which situated on the northern shore of the Issyk Kul Lake. Visit  museum of Petroglyphs  (duration of the excursion - 50 minutes). After excursion, transfer to the hotel and get accommodated. Dinner in a hotel included. Overnight.

9 am breakfast at the hotel.

10 am transfer to the Issy-Kul State Historical and Cultural Museum.

We get acquainted with the flora and fauna of the Issyk-Kul Region, items from nomads dating from the 10th to 20th centuries, Buddhist artifacts, ancient coins, and weapons, the Epic of Manas (duration of the exc rsion 30 minutes).

After excursion, visit the unique open-air museum “Rukh Ordo”. The complex includes 10 mini museums: the «Aitmatov’s museum house», the «Kyrgyz art and culture Hall», the picture and photo galleries, «Sayakbay Karalayev's arbor», the «Knowledge Treasure trove» and five chapels, each of them represents one of the world's confessions, namely: Islam, Catholicism, Orthodoxy, Buddhism and Judaism, as a symbol of the fact that God is one for all (duration of the excursion – 2 hours).

Lunch in the local café (included).

Around 2 pm drive to Bishkek from Cholpon Ata.  Arrival to Bishkek around  6 pm, transfer to the address that we agreed beforehand. Dinner is not included.
